Apex Racing is a group of six highly motivated engineering students from Bishop Veseys Grammar School who have been offered the opportunity to participate in a worldwide racing campaign. Our passion for engineering and racing has brought us together to create a unique and innovative brand. With our combined skills in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, we are equipped to tackle any challenge that comes our way. Our goal is to bring our expertise to the racing industry and make a name for ourselves as leaders in the field.

At Apex Racing, we are dedicated to achieving our goals and leaving behind a legacy for ourselves. We are constantly learning and striving to improve our skills and knowledge. We believe that by working together and sharing our ideas, we can achieve great things. Whether you are a racing enthusiast or looking for innovative engineering solutions, Apex Racing is the team for you. Join us on our journey to success and see what we can achieve together.

WHAT YOU CAN DO...

Sponsorships are essential to our success. As an amateur racing team, Apex Racing requires the support of sponsors to achieve our goals. By partnering with us, you will be enabling us to create our fully sustainable and recyclable pit display, design our brand, but also cover travel and transport costs, as well as team accommodation. Your generosity and support are key to our success and we are incredibly grateful for any assistance you can provide.

Such assistance can be in many forms, not just in monetary value. Your expertise can be valuable to us, helping us develop our brand but will also carry a possibility of helping us learn skills that we will learn later on in life, and perhaps pass down to the younger generations who proceed our legacy at BVGS.

In terms of monetary requirements, the team requires around £750 in order to participate in the regional brackets. This is due to the large amount of brand-building we have to invest in, examples such as keeping this website running. We are aiming to make upwards of six prototype cars in order to help us distinguish the best features, and help us build a final product that is as close to perfect as possible. It will also allow us to set up the brand aptly, and also to be able to organise events to help us raise further funds, as well as introducing the tournament to the lower years at BVGS.

As we progress through to Nationals and Worlds, the cost of being able to compete with the other teams will only rise, so it is vital that our budget is as big as possible as we approach these milestones. The nationals are being held at the  Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham. The World Finals are being held in Singapore from the 8th to the 11th of September, with participants being given access to a pit tour on the day of the Grand Prix.

Founded in 1527, Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School has the mission to provide inspiration and excellence to able boys and girls from Birmingham and across the Midlands. We are members of the 6th form of this school, a mixed gender institution, rather than the lower years, which are exclusively male. 4 of our 6 members were former Veseyans, and we are well accustomed to the fantastic opportunities this school regularly brings to its students.

The opportunity to be able to participate in this competition is entirely down to the school, more specifically the DT department and Mrs Bowen. Every two weeks we are given an hour in order to go over our brand and assess the progress we have made in the past fortnight. Representatives will also sometimes visit to give us tips and help us develop our cars. As the school has been entering in this competition for the past few years, we can also benefit from the work of previous teams before us. The school will also take care of all financial assets and will be responsible for any larger scale obstacles, such as providing transport to competitions.

Our success at Regionals...

And what's to come

Following our triumph in the regional final, our F1 in Schools team is primed with confidence for the upcoming national finals at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham on March 13th and 14th.

Our success in the regional stage validates our dedication and teamwork. However, we recognize the need to avoid complacency. With meticulous preparation, we aim to excel in every aspect of the competition.

United by our commitment to innovation and excellence, we approach the national finals with unwavering determination. Victory is not guaranteed, but our collective resolve remains steadfast.

As we count down to the finals, we stand ready to showcase our abilities and leave our mark on the competition. March 13th and 14th signify more than dates; they represent the culmination of our hard work and the pursuit of excellence.

A huge thanks to our sponsors...
